Streets with the most accidents in 2017–2025:
852 accidents were recorded in Lviv in 2025, 34 of them fatal. That is 2% fewer than in 2024 (866 accidents).
Horodotska Street: 527 accidents in 2017–2025, more than any other street in the city. It was also number one in 2025 (49 accidents).
Shevchenkivskyi district: 1406 accidents in 2017–2025. It is followed by Frankivskyi (1190), Zaliznychnyi (1127), Sykhivskyi (1121), Halytskyi (993), Lychakivskyi (903).
Most accidents happen between 18:00 and 19:00, on Fridays and in September. The charts above break this down by hour, weekday and month.
The most common causes in 2017–2025: violation of maneuvering rules (2224 accidents); exceeding safe speed (1161 accidents); violation of crosswalk rules (738 accidents). One accident can have several causes, so the percentages in the causes table can add up to more than 100%.
The data comes from the open dataset “Road traffic accidents in the Lviv city community” on the Lviv Open Data Portal (published by the Lviv City Council Office of Safety and Street Infrastructure, CC BY 4.0 license) and was cleaned and unified into a single format. The same dataset was previously also published on data.gov.ua (2017–2024 data). Last update: 2026-09-15. Only accidents with coordinates inside Lviv are shown on the map. The processed data is available as CSV files (values in Ukrainian): 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025.
