TV Color Bars – No Signal Screen
People use the color bars screen for:
Fake no signal TV prank
Open the page on a laptop or smart TV and go full screen. It looks like the cable fell out: color bars, a NO SIGNAL box, and old-TV scan lines. Press Esc when the joke is over.
Be right back screen for a stream
Add the browser window as a source in OBS or Streamlabs and switch to it during a break. The bars and the NO SIGNAL label read instantly as "stream paused" without making a custom scene.
Quick color check for a projector or second monitor
Eight bars in a known order make a bad connection easy to spot: if red, green, or blue is missing or two bars look the same, check the cable. If the outer bars are cut off, the display is overscanning. It is a quick visual check, not a calibrated SMPTE signal — use a proper test-pattern generator for real calibration.
Retro TV look for parties, photos, and sets
Put an old monitor or TV on the color bars for an 80s or 90s theme party, a photo backdrop, or a prop on a film or theater set. It runs from the browser, so there is nothing to install on the device.
No signal screensaver
Leave the screen on the bars when you step away. It looks like the monitor lost its input, which hides what you were working on and still makes it obvious that the screen is on.
